The Bible often speaks about God's care fo the poor and needy. As God has blessed us, so we ought to bless others. God wants to show His own concern for the poor through our actions. By the way, just debating about why certain people are poor ( and whether or not they deserver our help) is not wise, and it can close our hearts and hands.
Blessed are those who have regard for the weak; the Lord delivers them in times of trouble. The Lord will protect them and preserve their lives; He will bless them in the land and will not surrender them to the desire of their foes. The Lord will sustain them on their sick-bed and restore them from their bed of illness.
Psalm 41:1-3
EWM conducts a Feed the Poor programme. We go to many remote villages, tribes, and gypsy camps. We also sustain poor widows and give away bags of rice, cooked meals, bread, and other necessary food or clothing for hundreds of people. We also visit the leper colonies. Before distributing the food we share the love of Jesus, and preach the gospel to them. Many people have come to know Jesus through this ministry. These are the people whom EWM wants to reach out to – those who can barely survive day by day.
